Why Donate to New Mexico Community Capital?

New Mexico Community Capital is a 501(c)(3) organization working to create a more equitable future for Native American-owned businesses, Native families and tribal enterprises, by providing and sharing culturally appropriate tools and systems for success in business. Native-led and rooted in community, our programs encompass tech-centered business development, non-predatory capital, and specialized initiatives for creatives, artisans and farmers.

In 2023 we’re focusing on expanding our footprint here in Downtown Albuquerque, creating a space for entrepreneurs to work together. We also want to foster a place for intergenerational teachings and belonging, offering onsite childcare and elder care as needed, serving to remove the barriers that exist for those holding the responsibility of caring for their young or older relatives. The space will have the capacity to host larger events and showcase Indigenous ingenuity and creativity.

Our office is in a space that was previously the Occidental Life building, and to this day there is an inactive bank vault which will be repurposed to house a seed vault. We do a lot of work around food sovereignty, looking for ways to build on sustainable practices that are unique to this Southern Tiwa Territory, a high desert region. When making a donation, please consider what it will mean to bring this vision to life. We want to recognize NDN Collective for supporting NMCC with a Community Self-Determination grant.

All donations to NMCC are used to further our mission supporting the hard work of Native entrepreneurs, Native small business owners and the families that often participate in building their business, on and off tribal lands and virtually. Your donations also help support our operational costs and expand our Indigenous-led staffing and consulting. All contributions to our organization are tax-deductible.
