New Mexico Community Capital Names 2007 Officers, New Member
Bernalillo, NM - March 9, 2007 - New Mexico Community Capital, the state's sole community development investment organization, today announced the officers of its 2007 board of directors.
Owen Lopez,
Executive Director of McCune Charitable Foundation (Santa Fe), was elected Chairman. Joining him as new officers are Jacqueline Baca, Secretary, and Richard Harding, Treasurer. Ms. Baca is President and CEO of Bueno Foods in Albuquerque. Mr. Harding is Managing Partner of International Venture Fund (Santa Fe).
Andrew Baca,
President and CEO of Abba Technologies in Albuquerque, was elected as a
member of NMCC’s Board. Mr. Baca has over 22 years of varied technical,
sales and executive experience including many years in management
with IBM. He was named Male Minority Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006
by the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) division of the U.S.
Department of Commerce. He is the chair of the New MexicoSmall Business Investment Corporation (NMSBIC) and serves on the board
of directors of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Baca
has been with Abba since 1997. Under his direction Abba has grown and
received numerous awards and distinctions. “We are honored to have a person with Andrew’s depth and range of experience on our board,” said NMCC CEO, Jarratt Applewhite. “We are privileged to have such high caliberleaders. The quality of the people who govern us is one of the main reasons for our success. They are a tremendous asset and a valuable personal resource for me.”
